Etsy Wall Part 1
Ever since I discovered Etsy, I've always wanted a wall somewhere in the house to gather prints I've slowly collected from Etsy stores all over the world. For those who don't yet know about this, be prepared to put aside hours worth of browsing time. In their own words, Etsy is a place to "buy and sell handmade or vintage items, art and supplies...the world's most vibrant handmade marketplace". Some people make it big, to others it's just their corner of the web to set up shop and sell unique handmade things to anyone who just happens to drop in and browse. I've used it for birthdays, weddings, new arrivals...I've even done a full Etsy themed Christmas (took some planning ahead but so much fun choosing things for everyone...I even made "A Very Etsy Christmas" tags to go with...I've never been this organized with Christmas since). To say I am a fan is an understatement. But, I digress. Here is my Etsy Wall...minus one last print, still searching for that one...maybe I should make it one of my own when I get my Etsy store happening!
I started collecting them in 2007, so some of the stores are no longer on Etsy but they often have gone onto bigger and better things & sell through their websites :)

If you're into subscribing to blogs, Etsy have an amazing one where you can learn about stories behind the items and their sellers, DIY's and other goodies. If you're thinking of starting your own store, there is a separate blog that covers everything you could want to know about that side of things.
Not ready to go online with your shopping & prefer bricks and mortar? My suggestion would be to check out The Square, a local handmade market that happens in Bendigo once every season. We also have Bob Boutique in Williamson Street, also with a blog. Slightly further afield, Lark in Daylesford is equally gorgeous, also with a blog. Stay tuned for Part 2.
